CCS Update 2020: Response to Coronavirus

Like many of you, we have been learning about the coronavirus (COVID-19) and how it is impacting our world, our country, our CCS business, our customers, and our employees.

In Oklahoma City, we are focused on keeping our employees safe and being able to deliver products for our customers. With that in mind, we have made several moves in our business in response to the threat of the coronavirus.  We have ramped up our cleaning efforts throughout our offices and lab, and we are stressing hand washing, sanitation, etc.

We have shared specific instructions with our employees on the importance of staying home if they feel sick or are returning from any area identified as posing a coronavirus-related risk.

A strict travel policy for our employees is in place, and we have canceled attending conferences and meetings with large gatherings, again to do what we can to help prevent the spread of the illness.

The reality is that we all expect to have a significant downturn in business this spring. We know that many of you will have some events cancelled that you have previously photographed.  No one yet knows the kind of events, or when events will be cancelled.

We are hoping that rather than cancel some events, organizers will make some changes like holding the event outside, merely postponing it, or having only the participants present but no audiences.

It is very important that you keep in close contact with your clients and be as helpful and constructive as possible. You need to be assuring clients that you can conduct photography at events in a “non-touch” manner.

We need your help in letting us know what is happening in regard to cancellations so we may staff accordingly. We will be balancing staffing and supplies with your needs.

On the positive side, most of your sales take place online and that poses no purchasing barrier to consumers.

We can all deal with this major disruption if we keep positive and work smart.

Sincerely,

Jack Counts
