We are always looking for ways to help our CCS customers increase their income. We know that many of you have access to book and shoot social events presently. CCS’ latest tool can make it more profitable for you.
CCS has been involved in social photography since our beginning years ago. We have always photographed college parties, high school proms, corporate events, charity galas, reunions, etc. Recently, we introduced Party Pics Now to the CCS community. It can help you conduct social photography more easily and more profitably than ever before. Importantly, it can be conducted in two distinctly different manners.
The first Party Pics Now approach is called Host Buys, where the host pays you a fee to cover their event and you provide free branded image downloads during the event. Example:
- The host pays you $200 per hour per photographer to cover an event and provide the instant downloads
- A 3-hour event with two photographers would earn you $1,200 (3 hours x 2 photog x $200 = $1,200
- Your team would take and upload about 600 images (costing you $.29 per upload, or $174 for 600)
- • Averaging 3 people in each picture, around 1,800 digital downloads would be texted to their guests
- If you paid your 2 photographers $20 per hour, you would have $120 (6 x $20) in photographer cost • You would make $1,200 minus $120 for photographers and minus $174 for the uploads – or $906
- This requires that the host has a budget to pay you to provide the service
- When the host does not have a budget for photography, consider our alternative approach
The second Party Pics Now approach is called Guests Buys. In this case the host only has to allow you access to photograph their events. Their guests buy images & prints from you directly. You are not charged a $.29 upload charge. You make a percentage of the revenue based on the price tier you select. Your only risk is photographer pay. All other costs like prints, hosting, texting, credit card fees, shipping, etc. are included in CCS’ percentage. There are far more events that can be booked this way. Your results can be as good, or better than Host Buys.
We recently photographed an event in Oklahoma City for the OU Children’s Hospital called Art with a Heart. We have covered this event for years without great results. From 2013 through 2018, we averaged less than $300 in sales. Last year we upped the number of images taken to 1,334 and doubled sales to $642. Guests were sent a link to the event & they looked through the images to make a purchase. We made a small profit.
In February we used the Party Pics Now system to cover the “Art with a Heart” event.
- Our 4 photographers took 1,326 images and collected 523 cell phone numbers in 3.5 hours
- Our 4 photographers took the pictures and had guests “tap their faces” on their first photo
- On subsequent photos the facial recognition matched guests’ images with their cell phone numbers
- We took 1340 images this year. Guests received links to their images during the party
- So far, our sales with Party Pics Now have been $1,623. That is over 2.5 times higher than last year
- CCP selected the $9.99 price tier for 5×7’s and their revenue share at that price is 78% or $1,266
- The 4 photographers earned $20 for 3.5 hours totaling $280
- So, CCP made $1,266 in revenue share minus $280 in photographer pay = $986 profit
- The best part was that there was nothing to do after the party except watch sales come in!
